How these numbers are worked out
- Every method assumes you spend exactly the amount above, with fees taken out of it, and is measured against the mid-market rate.
- Bank wire: 25 EUR in sending and intermediary fees, plus a 2.5% markup on the exchange rate.
- Wise: 1.5 EUR plus 0.45% of the amount, converted at the mid-market rate.
- PayPal: 2% of the amount, plus a 3% markup on the exchange rate.
- USDT via WorkTGT: 0.1% of the payout (min 0.5, max 5 USDT), network gas included. USDT is counted at 1 USD, plus a 0.15% spread when the recipient converts USDT to local currency.
Provider fees surveyed on 2026-07-27. They vary by country, bank and amount, so check with your provider before a large transfer. Exchange rate: ECB reference rate of 2026-10-16.
Pay your team the cheaper way
WorkTGT runs team payouts in USDT from your own Safe multisig, with approvals before anything moves. Free to use; each executed payout costs 0.1%, gas included.
What WorkTGT charges per payout
0.1% of each executed payout, at least 0.5 and at most 5 USDT, with network gas included. The fee goes out in the same Safe transaction, so the contractor receives the full amount.
| Payout | WorkTGT fee | Leaves your Safe | Effective rate |
|---|---|---|---|
| 100 USDT | 0.5 | 100.5 | 0.50% |
| 500 USDT | 0.5 | 500.5 | 0.10% |
| 1,000 USDT | 1 | 1,001 | 0.10% |
| 3,000 USDT | 3 | 3,003 | 0.10% |
| 10,000 USDT | 5 | 10,005 | 0.05% |
How contractors in India cash out
Indian recipients generally convert through an exchange registered with the Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU-IND) and withdraw rupees to their bank account. Confirm the exchange accepts USDT on BNB Smart Chain before you send.
Before the first payout, confirm with the contractor
- Their USDT address on BNB Smart Chain (BEP20). A TRON (TRC20) address is a different network and cannot receive this transfer.
- That their exchange or wallet accepts BEP20 USDT deposits.
- Which platform they will use to convert, and roughly what it charges.
- The invoice currency and amount, so the payout can be matched to it later.
How a team pays a contractor in India in WorkTGT
The flow is the same for every country. Only the recipient's address and the way they cash out change.
- 1
Register the contractor once
An admin adds the contractor's name and BEP20 address. New addresses can require an extra approval, so an address swapped in a chat message cannot slip through.
- 2
Raise a payout request
The requester enters the amount in USDT, attaches the invoice or a note, and submits. The fee is shown before anyone approves.
- 3
Approve
Designated approvers check the request against the invoice. Large amounts can require more approvals than routine ones.
- 4
Sign and execute from your Safe
Safe owners sign in their own wallets until the threshold is met. Payout and fee leave in one transaction, and WorkTGT never holds the funds or the keys.
- 5
Keep the record
Every step lands in an append-only audit log with the on-chain transaction hash, ready to export to CSV for your accountant.
Rules and tax in India: what to check
India taxes gains from virtual digital assets under their own rules and applies tax deducted at source to many crypto transfers, so a USDT payment can be treated differently from a plain bank payment. The contractor should confirm their position with a local tax adviser, and you should check your own reporting obligations.
This page is general information, not legal or tax advice. Crypto rules change often: check local rules and talk to a qualified adviser before you rely on any setup.
Frequently asked questions
Is it allowed to pay a contractor in India in USDT?
India taxes gains from virtual digital assets under their own rules and applies tax deducted at source to many crypto transfers, so a USDT payment can be treated differently from a plain bank payment. The contractor should confirm their position with a local tax adviser, and you should check your own reporting obligations.
Which USDT address should a contractor in India give us?
A USDT address on BNB Smart Chain (BEP20), which starts with 0x. WorkTGT pays from a Safe on BNB Smart Chain, so TRON (TRC20) addresses will not work. Ethereum uses the same 0x format, so the contractor should confirm their exchange credits BEP20 deposits to that address.
How much does it cost to pay a contractor in India with WorkTGT?
WorkTGT is free to use. Each executed payout costs 0.1%, at least 0.5 and at most 5 USDT, with gas included: 1 USDT on a 1,000 USDT payout. The contractor's own exchange fees for converting into local currency (INR) are separate.
How long does a USDT payout take to arrive?
Once the last signer executes, a BNB Smart Chain transfer usually confirms within seconds to a minute. The part that varies is your own approval process and the contractor's conversion to local currency.
Do we still need a contract and invoices?
Yes. Paying in USDT does not replace a contractor agreement, invoices, or either side's tax obligations. WorkTGT links each payout to its request and keeps the transaction hash, which makes the paper trail easier to keep.
